A new study finds that the average homebuyer will pay an average of $3,500 for a pair of Amazon Prime Air mattresses.
The survey of 1,600 people found that the majority of the respondents thought that they could spend $1,000 on a pair.
The findings are based on Amazon’s Prime Air mattress sales.
The average price per pair is $1.16, according to the study, conducted by consulting firm KPMG.
Only 12% of people thought they could afford to spend $600 on the same pair of bedding.
However, that was only 7% of those surveyed who did.
The study found that an average person could afford $600 for a mattress, but only 8% of respondents could afford that amount.
The vast majority of people who bought a mattress in the past would only need to spend about $100, according the study.
The researchers said the survey findings are “shocking” given that Amazon Prime has become a popular shopping option for consumers.
